Set to be released on September 19th...
Wednesday will drop their new album ‘Bleeds’ on September 19th.
Their standout 2023 album ‘Rat Saw God’ received rave reviews and led to some electrifying live shows. Returning to the studio, Wednesday has crafted what they describe as the “spiritual successor” to that album.
‘Bleeds,’ which will be available on September 19th, consists of 12 new tracks. Karly Hartzman shared her thoughts: “This is how Wednesday songs are meant to sound. We’ve poured a significant part of our lives into figuring this out—and I believe we've accomplished that.”
Currently available for pre-order, the lead single ‘Wound Up Here (By Holding On)’ draws inspiration from a line in Evan Gray’s poetry collection, Thickets Swamped in a Fence-Coated Briars.
Hartzman explains the origin of the song: “It was inspired by a story a friend shared about an incident where he had to retrieve a body from a creek in West Virginia. Someone had drowned, but it took a few days for them to come to the surface because of the current.”
The song is accompanied by a video directed by Joriel Cura – take a look below.
