Caroline Polachek has released a new track titled ‘On The Beach.’
This song is included in the soundtrack for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, the much-anticipated sequel to Hideo Kojima’s celebrated adventurous video game from 2019.
Apparently, the game creator discovered Caroline Polachek's music and reached out to her, leading to a meeting in Paris.
The new single ‘On The Beach’ marks Caroline Polachek's return to solo work, showcasing its harsh, Brutalist electronic sound that was created in collaboration with frequent partner Danny L Harle.
Now available with a new music video, ‘On The Beach’ is paired with a string arrangement version titled ‘On The Beach’ (‘Timefall Mix’).

‘On The Beach’ was actually one of the first tracks I collaborated on with Danny L Harle, but its alien and industrial sound—almost too sinister—didn’t fit the theme of Pang, so I put it aside until the right opportunity arose. When Kojima approached me about DS2, I played him the demo, and he felt it was an ideal match. Thus, eight years after I began this song, it was revisited, expanded, and completed for the perfect context.
