North Carolina rapper MAVI drops his new single ‘Potluck’, collaborating with Missouri’s Smino.
Marking a new era of openness and teamwork, ‘Potluck’ is MAVI’s second release this year, following his partnership with Earl Sweatshirt on the jazz-influenced track ‘Landgrab’.
Produced by Nephew Hesh, Cade, and Asean Bwoy, ‘Potluck’ features both rappers celebrating their hard-earned achievements over a subtle, synth-heavy instrumental, adding a lo-fi touch to MAVI’s collection.
In 2024, MAVI released his highly regarded album ‘shadowbox’ and toured the project with support from PinkSiifu, Ovrkast., Chenayder, Vayda, Sideshow, Niontay, Igwe Aka, MESSIAH!, and Ahmir.
MAVI made his debut in 2019 with his first album ‘Let The Sun Talk’, followed by his second album ‘Laughing so Hard, it Hurts’ in 2022, a poetic reflection on the complexities of grief and joy.
