Of Monsters And Men have released their new single ‘Television Love’.

The band has been quietly evolving since their 2019 album ‘Fever Dream’, working from their home base in Iceland.

After reconvening recently, these indie-folk giants are set to release their first proper single since 2021’s ‘Destroyer’.

Written and recorded in their Icelandic studio, ‘Television Love’ represents a natural progression, showcasing textured and nuanced songwriting.

The lyrics explore changes in a relationship between two individuals. Of Monsters and Men reflects:

“We’re thrilled to share our song ‘Television Love’. Over the past few years, we’ve been in our studio quietly creating music, and it feels wonderful to finally reveal what we’ve been up to. At its essence, ‘Television Love’ represents a conversation between two people that spans time. We've been living with this song for a while, and during our studio sessions, we would revisit it at various stages of our lives. Each time, it felt like we had new elements to contribute to the song’s narrative. Life unfolds, circumstances change, and hopelessness transforms into hope. The sonic landscape and the conversation evolved with our own experiences.”

The music video for ‘Television Love’ was filmed during an unusual Icelandic summer night, with the band adding:

“We collaborated with director Erlendur Sveinsson for the music video. It revolves around a conversation at a dinner table, with both the band and the table moving through different times and spaces, experiencing chaos and calm, all while being both connected and detached from the environment. The entire video was shot on 35mm film during a summer night in Iceland. Because it was filmed around the solstice, we could stay up until early morning without the sun setting. It created a peculiar sense of timelessness that felt perfectly suited for ‘Television Love’.”
