Oasis Unveils Special Anniversary Edition of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’

Oasis has announced today deluxe editions of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the iconic album, set for release on October 3rd through Big Brother Recordings.

The release will include newly recorded unplugged versions of five beloved tracks: ‘Cast No Shadow’, ‘Morning Glory’, ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Acquiesce’, and ‘Champagne Supernova’. These unplugged renditions were produced and mixed by Noel Gallagher alongside Callum Marinho, using the original master recordings from Noel’s studio, Lone Star Sound, in London.

The deluxe edition features fresh artwork created by the original sleeve designer Brian Cannon and includes new sleeve notes. Exclusive colored vinyl editions will be available, such as the indie record store exclusive ‘Cast No Shadow’ inspired Crystal Clear 3LP, the HMV ‘Morning Glory’ inspired blue marble 3LP, the Amazon Exclusive ‘Wonderwall’ inspired sepia marble 3LP, and the official store exclusive ‘Acquiesce’ inspired neon orange 3LP. All formats will come with the 2014 remastered version of the album along with the new bonus tracks.

‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ was originally released on October 2nd, 1995, by Creation Records, catapulting the band to global fame. This album followed just 14 months after their debut ‘Definitely Maybe’, which is regarded as one of the most significant debut albums ever. ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ won the Best British Album award at the 1996 BRIT Awards.

This special anniversary edition follows last summer's release of the 30th Anniversary Edition of ‘Definitely Maybe,’ which reached number one in the Official UK Album Chart for the second time in that album's history.

Today's announcement coincides with the start of Oasis's Live ‘25 tour. As the tour dates approach, the excitement has continued to build. The global tour kicks off at Cardiff Principality Stadium on Friday, then moves on to Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin in the UK before continuing worldwide.

‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory? (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)’ is now available for pre-order in limited edition 2CD and 3LP formats, as well as digital formats for pre-save.

The new version of ‘Acquiesce’ is being revealed today. Check it out below.
