Emerging artist Mega has released a new track titled ‘Roots.’
The newcomer has recently captured attention with her performance at the Meltdown festival in London, curated by Little Simz, which generated significant buzz around her name.
The upcoming ‘I Am Enough’ EP is expected to leave a lasting impact, showcasing her vocal talent with the neo-soul infused title track.
Currently available, ‘Roots’ presents a gentle indie-soul sound, initiated by hints of guitar before Mega conveys her truth.
The chorus – “when all the love you need, is always there underneath, nobody can take away what’s in my roots” – sees Mega providing an emotional reset while reflecting on her foundation.
She remarks...
“‘Roots’ serves as a reminder that no matter how far you wander or how often you lose your sense of purpose, the one constant are the elements that define you. Our roots shape our identities. Returning to the beginning has been beneficial for me, allowing me to recalibrate and reflect on my core values. Revisiting spaces that remind me of who I am and the love surrounding me is crucial. My roots form my foundation, providing a sense of identity and security!”
