On July 14, 2025, South London rapper Strandz released his latest single "Mile High Club," featuring 111SYRI.
This self-produced track captures the vibrant energy of a summer in Paris, reminiscent of the bold, forward-thinking production style of Darkchild and the RnB-rap collaborations of the post-millennium era. This release follows his earlier tracks, "Time" featuring Giggs, and "VIP," which included vocals from London artist Kamal.
Strandz was born in Hamburg to a German mother and a Nigerian father. The family later moved to Lagos and then Nnobi, a village in southern Nigeria. Eventually, his immediate family relocated to South London with very limited financial resources. Strandz was impacted by the social disparities stemming from the British class system, which starkly contrasted with the supportive community atmosphere he had known in Nigeria.
His musical style is influenced by a diverse range of sounds from his upbringing, drawing inspiration from artists like Fela Kuti, Quincy Jones, Feist, and ’90s East Coast rap and RnB.
