Electric Guest Unveils Upcoming Album '10K'

The new album '10K' by Electric Guest is set to be released on October 10th.

This indie pop group, consisting of songwriter/producer Asa Taccone and renowned film and TV composer Matthew Compton, recently announced their comeback with the release of the new single ‘Play Your Guitar’.

This lighthearted alt-pop track is accompanied by a video that features appearances from their notable friends, including HAIM, Snacktime, Jordana, and others.

The upcoming album '10K' references a $10,000 loan that Taccone received from a mentor when he moved to Los Angeles, encouraging him to leave his day job and focus on music.

The writing and recording process for the album was approached in a DIY manner, with Electric Guest inviting various friends into the creation, including acclaimed producer Cole MGN, Kacy Hill, and Emmett Kai.

The new single ‘Stand Back For You’ is uplifting and vibrant, and its catchy melody required significant refinement over time.

“It took a few years to finish this song,” Asa Taccone shared about the single. “I had difficulty revisiting it because of its significance to me. Relationships can be challenging. To help a plant bloom, it needs sunlight. Sometimes, in love, you have to take a step back.”
