Written and recorded in the wake of bassist Chris Bierden’s glioblastoma diagnosis, the album reflects the band during a pivotal moment.
Minneapolis-based band POLIÇA is set to release their sixth album, ‘Dreams Go,’ on October 17th through Memphis Industries.
Since their rise from the underground with their debut LP ‘Give You The Ghost,’ POLIÇA has established a unique niche in electronic indie-pop. The band, co-founded by producer Ryan Olson, includes vocalist Channy Leaneagh, bassist Chris Bierden, along with drummers Ben Ivascu and Drew Christopherson.
‘Dreams Go’ comprises eight new tracks recorded at Pachyderm Studio in Minnesota, produced by Olson with additional production from Stockholm-based techno artist Peder Mannerfelt. This album represents the band’s final sessions with Bierden before he was unable to play bass due to his glioblastoma diagnosis.
Serving both as an elegy and a means of preservation, the album encapsulates the band during a significant transition. The unveiling of the album is accompanied by the poignant title track. Channy Leaneagh shares, “It’s an anthem for the dreams we swallow and bury while life continues without them.”
Although Bierden is no longer able to perform live, POLIÇA is moving forward with a new member, Alex Nutter, and is reinventing themselves with a fresh touring lineup.
