Toni Sancho reveals upcoming EP titled ‘Declare Me Dead!’

Trinidad-born, London-based artist Toni Sancho has revealed details about her second EP, ‘Declare Me Dead!’. This release will follow her debut project, ‘Heaven Knows!’, which came out in May last year, and is scheduled for release on 8th August. “Since my last EP, I decided to take a step back,” Toni remarked, referring to her reduced visibility after the release of her first EP. “When so many people are observing you, you sometimes struggle to see yourself clearly… I definitely stepped back from sharing my process as openly.” She describes the new five-track record, recorded with SHRINK, as “much more grounded.” “I feel much more grounded now. These emotions are not only about my own experiences but also about my interactions with the world and my perspective on it.” In addition to announcing her upcoming release, she has also unveiled its title track and scheduled a headline performance in London at The Forge at The Lower Third on 13th August. Speaking about the EP’s lead single, she expressed, “Being enveloped in darkness is a challenging experience, but we must recognize that it can happen to any of us. Sometimes we let negativity affect our body and mind so deeply that we have to part with certain aspects of ourselves entirely in order to move forward. At times, certain parts of you can’t accompany you, and you must allow some aspects of yourself to die. This is the essence of what this record represents. I have faced significant struggles to master myself even before embarking on this musical journey, and it can take a long time to grasp certain lessons.” “I wrote this song two years ago, yet in a curious way, as I release it now, nothing could more accurately reflect what I am experiencing both as an artist and as an individual. Everything is truly in alignment, and I feel deeply honored to share this experience with others.” Listen to ‘Declare Me Dead!’ below, and purchase tickets for her headline show through DICE.
