Set to release on September 26th, Automatic's new album ‘Is It Now?’ is on the way.
The Los Angeles trio has finalized their latest creative project, which will be available in September via Stones Throw.
Combining stylish synth pop with bold post-punk elements, they incorporate studio techniques that align with the Stones Throw legacy.
On ‘Is It Now?’, set for release on September 26th, the group – Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals), Halle Saxon (bass, vocals), and Lola Dompé (drums, vocals) – demonstrates a strong sense of cohesion.
The new single ‘Mercury’ is currently available, with Izzy noting that the lyrics serve as a reminder “not to succumb to nihilism or cynicism, but to view life through a more spiritual perspective.”
The breakbeat elements evoke the style of trip hop acts like UNKLE who sampled obscure funk tracks, while the groovy bass line pays homage to LA’s jazz roots.
Halle describes it this way: “our old and new ideas collided and shaped the sound of this third album.”
