Mahalia has announced that she will be releasing a new EP titled ‘Luvergirl’ on August 15th. This seven-track project will feature her recent singles ‘Different Type Of Love,’ ‘Pick Up The Pace,’ ‘Pressure Points,’ and last week's ‘Instructions.’ Created across the UK, Jamaica, and St Vincent, this collection serves as a follow-up to her 2023 release ‘IRL.’ It showcases the R&B artist's embrace of her roots and her engagement with Jamaica’s lively music scene, following her trip to the Caribbean earlier this year. Mahalia expressed, “It was truly significant for me to connect with that world, and it's quite meaningful to hear my voice in that way.” On her ‘Luvergirl’ philosophy, she added, “It feels like it’s the time for women to reclaim some of our fucking control, not to be slut-shamed, not to be ridiculed, and not to be told what we can or cannot do. While I might not directly address those issues in the music, that’s the mindset I was in during its creation. Interestingly, in all the songs, I’m really telling these men what to do in a sense.” You can view the complete tracklist for ‘Luvergirl’ and listen to ‘Instructions’ here: ‘Luvergirl’ tracklist: 1.
