      Brògeal - Tuesday Paper Club

As expected from Falkirk's Brògeal, their latest single and title track from the upcoming debut album, 'Tuesday Paper Club', offers a brilliant modern take on traditional Scottish folk infused with indie vibes. The song carries a clever sense of humor, addressing inter-generational bitterness and hypocrisy. As frontman Daniel Harkins noted, "[older people] can be so bitter about us as if they weren’t doing the same, if not worse, at their age." It's an exhilarating and fun track that perfectly encapsulates the band's essence. (Chris Connor)

      TTSSFU - Call U Back

Wigan-born artist Tasmin Stephens, known as TTSSFU, introduces a haunting atmosphere in the opening moments of 'Call U Back', a murky blend of echoing sounds that transitions into beautifully gritty bass guitar notes underlaid with dreamy vocals. As the song unfolds, it reflects perhaps more of Stephens' nightmares than sweet dreams: her vocals slip into a reverb-laden scream, drawing us into her search in the dark. Despite its unique sound, this track carries a tenacious grit that makes it unforgettable. (Phil Taylor)

      Ebbb - Manners

With their first single since the 2024 EP ‘All At Once’, London’s Ebbb shifts from their earlier hazy, late-night introspections to a clearer, more vibrant sound while maintaining the captivating allure of their previous work. Distinctive choppy vocal samples are complemented by crisp, ethereal melodies, and the catchy line “the way I feel when you are near” embeds itself in your memory as a later earworm to accompany daily life. Blending the energetic essence of techno with dream-pop's enchanting qualities, Ebbb uses ‘Manners’ to explore the complexities of romantic relationships with grace. (Hazel Blacher)

      Lover's Skit - Bad Lyfe

This latest release from Stockholm's Lover's Skit—a duo comprising vocalist Nathalia Aránguiz and producer Ove Jerndal (also of Clutter)—places them at the forefront of the current Y2K nostalgia wave. The track embodies mid-2000s, electro-infused alt-pop, radiating irreverent attitude and rich glamour. ‘Bad Lyfe’ is simply a catchy track, reminiscent of Azealia Banks' ‘212’ mixed with 'Arular'-era M.I.A, exuding an atmosphere of roller-skating freedom and excitement. (Elvis Thirlwell)

      Maruja - Saoirse

'Saoirse,' meaning 'freedom' in Irish, serves as Maruja's latest preview of their debut album and makes a strong statement of support for Palestine. The track opens with a nuanced interplay between saxophone and guitar before building into a rich, cinematic crescendo of drums and strings. Frontman Harry Wilkinson's raw, poetic vocals layered over the band's lively jazz-rock create a poignant call for self-reflection and collective unity amidst our world's divisions, making for a deeply immersive listening experience. (Finley Kesteven)

Nectar Woode - When The Rain Stops

From her newly released EP 'it's like I never left', 'When The Rain Stops' showcases rising star Nectar Woode's diverse sound. Her vocals seamlessly integrate with jazz-inspired guitars and a trip-hop rhythm, generating such positivity that it’s hard not to smile while listening. (Chris Connor)

      Nieve Ella - Good Grace

‘Good Grace’ is a straightforward, lively rock track packed with fuzz that makes you both jump and ponder. Nieve Ella has never shied away, and in this track, she fully unleashes her frustrations, tackling toxicity and condescending talk in a cathartic release of pent-up anger. It’s often said that the best music stems from genuine emotion, and this comeback single stands as a prime example—celebrating the 22-year-old's return. (Phil Taylor)

The Sophs - DEATH IN THE FAMILY

Following their Strokes-esque debut ‘SWEAT’, LA-based six-piece The Sophs present their second single, 'DEATH IN THE FAMILY'. However, don’t let the title mislead you; the track is far from bleak. It channels the essence of mid-'90s power pop—frontman Ethan Ramon alternates between speech-like and falsetto singing in a clever manner rather than somber, with an unforgettable hook that even Weezer would envy. And that guitar solo at its conclusion? It's simply outstanding. (Attila Peter)
