Goldie has announced plans for the 30th anniversary edition of his landmark album ‘Timeless.’
Originally released on August 7, 1995, this album marked a significant turning point in the development of drum 'n' bass. Goldie began his artistic career as a graffiti artist, eventually becoming part of the rave scene; his early exposure to breakbeat sounds and experimentation with jungle music helped shape the vocabulary of this musical genre.
As part of the influential Metalheadz collective, Goldie launched ‘Timeless’ in the summer of 1995 under London Records, which received extensive praise upon its release.
A key moment in British music history, Goldie is honoring 30 years of ‘Timeless’ by announcing new re-issue plans.
A collection of special limited edition physical formats of ‘Timeless’ will be made available: 2LP White Vinyl, 2LP Gold-on-Clear Vinyl, and Transparent Blue Cassette.
In addition, Goldie has collaborated with his longtime friend Grooverider to undertake a hand-pressing project with the Vinyl Factory.
Together, they will produce a limited run of 500 ‘Timeless’ records, featuring hand-stamped sleeves and custom color schemes chosen by Goldie. These will be available for purchase on August 7, with 10% of proceeds going to War Child.
