My Morning Jacket Reexamines ‘Z’ for Its 20th Anniversary Edition

      Including 14 tracks that have never been released before...

      My Morning Jacket has announced a 20th anniversary edition of their album ‘Z’.

      Originally released in 2005, the album marked a significant breakout moment for the band, blending their country rock style with various other influences. ‘Z’ offered an eclectic and captivating listening experience, elevating My Morning Jacket to new heights, with songs from the album remaining beloved by fans.

      In celebration of ‘Z,’ a new deluxe edition for its 20th anniversary will come out through ATO Records on October 3rd, featuring 14 previously unreleased demos, outtakes, and more.

      The new track ‘Where To Begin’ is now available. Written for Cameron Crowe’s 2005 film Elizabethtown, it was one of the initial songs recorded with new My Morning Jacket members keyboardist Bo Koster and guitarist Carl Broemel, who played pedal steel.

      Jim James, the band's singer-guitarist-songwriter, shared, “That was one of the coolest things, that Carl could play pedal steel. We’d never had that before.”
