Margate-based producer Jaime Rosso has released his new single ‘Away’.
In addition to his production work, Rosso is an acclaimed DJ and a key member of the all-vinyl collective Social Records Society, a group of vinyl enthusiasts that regularly hosts events at various London locations including Café 1001, Corsica Studios, and The Carpet Shop.
Now signed to Domino, Jaime Rosso makes his debut with the vibrant house track ‘Away’.
The electronic sounds evoke a rich, comforting sensation, reminiscent of enjoying an old Moodymann mix while on the Margate shore.
Having recently supported artists like Eris Drew, Marshall Jefferson, and Awesome Tapes From Africa, Jaime infuses his music with an understanding of the club environment, all the while capturing a sense of introspection.
The song originates from the feeling of dislocation Jaime experienced when leaving home for university, a limbo where adolescent connections have been tested and new friendships strive to emerge.

“I created ‘Away’ to encapsulate those brief, unexpected moments of connection that arise during times of change and loss. Those instances when places, individuals, or creative expressions offer relief from the challenges of the outside world. The video represents one of those moments. In collaboration with DoP Chester Briscall Harvey, it depicts a journey across Thanet and the development of an unlikely friendship.”
