Breakfast Records labelmates Getdown Services and Mumble Tide have collaborated to offer a trippy rendition of ‘Don’t Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)’. They express that this cover serves as a tribute to the influence and legacy of the late Beach Boys frontman Brian Wilson. “I believe Brian Wilson acts as a guiding star for musicians grappling with depression who overthink,” reflected Josh Law of Getdown Services. “His influence has forever broadened my appreciation for music. He showed me that music can resonate beyond just loud guitar solos. If I hadn’t discovered The Beach Boys, I doubt I would have the same determination to trust my instincts and creativity in music. His work has evoked a multitude of feelings that one could hope to experience through music. Thanks, Brian!” Ryan Rogers of Mumble Tide shares this sentiment, stating, “There is something inexplainably magical about [Brian’s] songwriting. He relentlessly pursued creating art that broke the mold while also embracing pop sensibilities; there’s truly no one like him.” This emotionally rich and ethereal rendition of the cherished track from ‘Pet Sounds’ follows the release of Getdown’s latest EP ‘Primordial Slot Machine’ and Mumble Tide’s second album, ‘Might As Well Play Another One’, both of which were released earlier this summer.
