Westerman Reveals Upcoming Album ‘A Jackal’s Wedding’

Westerman is set to release his new album ‘A Jackal’s Wedding’ on November 7th.

The English songwriter enjoys traveling; he has previously lived in Lisbon and spent time in Greece. Currently based in Milan, his upcoming album embodies the essence of constant exploration and the desire to start over.

Scheduled for release on November 7th, the album features Westerman’s alt-pop style, further pushing the boundaries of creativity. Much of it was penned in Athens and recorded over a five-week period on the Greek island of Hydra, a region known for its rich history. Westerman collaborated with producer Marta Salogni (who has worked with Björk, The xx, Sampha, and English Teacher) to create this new work.

Together, they bring a fresh perspective to his music, and 'A Jackal’s Wedding' is now available for pre-order.

The new track ‘Adriatic’ portrays the artist looking out to sea, introspectively reflecting on his life; it focuses on reassessing one’s journey and reclaiming personal narrative.

      Westerman shares…

I composed ‘Adriatic’ during my unsuccessful attempt to relocate to Greece. I was striving to escape the limitations of my immediate physical existence. Life presents numerous practical constraints, whether due to our bodies or financial situations, but we can always envision a mental space where anything is achievable. This song celebrates that reclaiming process.

I hadn’t created anything for quite some time. Following the release of my first album, I experienced significant depression; the entire ordeal was so overwhelming that I questioned my desire to continue making music. Writing this song was a way to regain my creative space, which is intrinsically mine, and that empowerment is profound. Everyone goes through phases where they feel a lack of control over their lives. It’s the realization that a part of you remains untouched unless you permit it, and you can always nurture that space, even if it lies dormant—it doesn’t vanish as long as you keep it in mind.

      Tune in now.
