Bread & Butter to Debut Summer Denim Collection Featuring a Fashion Show Driven by the Community

Bread & Butter is returning to the runway with a summer denim collection created in collaboration with Mia Laila, founder of the London-based brand Milo Vogue.

Titled the ‘Summer Denim Collection,’ this year’s event will showcase more than 200 pairs of deadstock Carhartt jeans sourced by the Bread & Butter team. A selection of local designers, also curated by Bread & Butter (including Kathryn Vintage, Wonderound, S**t Happens, Adam Reed, and Max MP), will be invited to repurpose the denim, unveiling their own designs this Saturday alongside Mia Laila of Milo Vogue, who will present her interpretation of Japanese workwear.

On Saturday, Bread & Butter’s Shoreditch store will be transformed into a community-driven creative hub, featuring a makeshift runway on the street accompanied by live music for a full 12 hours. This denim showcase follows last year’s successful ‘Euro 2024’ collection, which focused on repurposing vintage football shirts and unique designs. Staying true to its core mission, the event will highlight lesser-known grassroots artists and designers in tandem with established figures.

“We are incredibly excited!!” says Ben, the founder of Bread & Butter. “Every year, our Summer Event embodies community, creativity, fashion, music, and culture. This year’s denim collection with Milo Vogue takes something previously worn and puts it in the spotlight. Our brand’s main focus is on vintage fashion, aiming to demonstrate that all items can continue to have life even after being discarded, while also showcasing grassroots talent in both fashion and music. This event allows us to unite everything we represent as a brand while creating something beautiful for everyone to participate in and remember.”

“Creativity is part of my DNA, and upcycling is my way of narrating stories through clothing,” says Mia Laila, founder of Milo Vogue. “Collaborating with Bread & Butter has challenged and developed me as an artist, using Carhartt denim in innovative ways that I hope will inspire others. What makes this event even more meaningful is its fusion of music and fashion, working alongside my dad, Ray Keith, who will be DJing, and the rising talents from the jungle scene, Kaya Fyah & Jayahadadream. It’s more than just fashion; it’s about culture, community, and continuing a legacy.”

The Bread & Butter team will also honor the legacy of Notting Hill Carnival, which coincides with the weekend, emphasizing a shared commitment to community and Caribbean culture featuring Caribbean artists on the lineup and partnering with the Caribbean restaurant Mama Ky’s on-site.
