South London artist Layyah has debuted her new single, ‘Money Moves’.
A smooth fusion of Alté elements and the urgency of grime, ‘Money Moves’ follows her earlier single, ‘Passenger Side’, which dropped earlier this summer.
Infused with Layyah’s distinctive lyrical style and a relaxed flow, ‘Money Moves’ delves into themes of love, financial independence, and resilience, serving as both a catchy late-summer anthem and an empowering declaration about a partnership founded on equality.
Layyah describes it: “Money Moves is a song about the ideal lifestyle of a couple working towards their financial goals. They each earn their own money, yet they're in it together. This is what I’m envisioning for myself.”
Originating from South London, Layyah is a singer, rapper, and songwriter who started her journey at ELAM College. She embraces her African heritage while creating a sound heavily influenced by the diaspora along with UK rap and RnB.
She gained recognition as the first female contestant to win the BBC's The Rap Game UK in 2024 and has since released two singles and a freestyle, earning millions of streams, views, and impressions online.
As she aims to make her mark in 2025, Layyah continues to shine with her relentless drive and remarkable ability to convey grounded, uplifting messages.
