His most ambitious project to date...
Futurecop! has released his new synth-pop album ‘Wind, Town & Flowers’.
Now available, the album marks a bold and expansive comeback, showcasing his vibrant synth compositions that evoke retro-futuristic imagery. At times, the influence of Blade Runner is prominent—he mentions Valgelis as an inspiration—but you can also detect the sounds of the ultimate pop icon, Michael Jackson.
Overall, ‘Wind, Town & Flowers’ brims with creativity and concepts, merging nostalgic elements with exciting modern explorations. Delving into his own narrative, certain aspects of the album feel like significant realizations, as Futurecop! intertwines his personal experiences with cinematic storytelling.
Regarding the album, he expresses...
“Wind, Town & Flowers is my most extensive and polished work to date, both in terms of production and musical storytelling. My goal was to evoke a warm, nostalgic atmosphere while incorporating contemporary sounds, merging synth-led melodies with cutting-edge production, resembling a soundtrack for a film that doesn't exist. Drawing inspiration from retro synths, classic movies, and primarily 90s Japanese TV dramas I encountered during the creation of the album, it is anchored in nostalgia yet distinctly modern."
The artist continues: “It narrates a tale of growing up, maturing, and returning as an adult to one's childhood home. Musically, it blends electronic, synthwave, R&B, dance, pop, rock, and even liquid drum & bass, crafting a varied yet unified experience. Each track is designed to feel otherworldly and uplifting, encouraging listeners to reconnect with their memories and discover their own stories within the music.”
