Dry Cleaning has returned, recently announcing that their third studio album, ‘Secret Love’, will be released in the new year on January 9th through 4AD. This will mark the South London band's first LP in three years, following 2022’s ‘Stumpwork’. The album was created across locations including Peckham, Chicago, Dublin, and the Loire Valley, with Cate Le Bon overseeing the mixing process. “Being in a room with them and experiencing the vitality and energy that exists among them is such a unique expression,” Cate remarked about her time producing Dry Cleaning. The lead single and opening track from ‘Secret Love’ is ‘Hit My Head All Day’ (currently available), which delves into themes of (mis)trust through its scratchy guitars, airy synths, and a subtly funk-infused bassline. “The song addresses the manipulation of the body and mind,” frontwoman Florence Shaw explained. “The lyrics were initially inspired by the use of misinformation on social media by the far right.” She further elaborated, “There are influential individuals aiming to steer our behavior for their own advantage; to purchase certain products or to vote in a particular manner. I struggle to discern people’s intentions and determine whom to trust, even in daily life. It's easy to fall under the sway of a malevolent stranger who presents themselves as a friend.” Moreover, Dry Cleaning intends to commemorate the launch of ‘Secret Love’ with their largest headline show to date—a concert at London’s renowned Brixton Academy on April 22, 2026. Tickets will go on sale starting Wednesday, October 1st for fans who pre-ordered the album, while general sales will begin on Friday, October 3rd.
