The producer grapples with scoliosis...
Manchester-based artist Werkha has released his new album, ‘Unsung Irregular,’ in its entirety.
For over a decade, Werkha has been an essential figure in UK music, known for both his collaborations and insightful solo work. His latest album, ‘Unsung Irregular,’ expands the boundaries, as Werkha creates an audio memoir.
The project centers around the theme of exploring the body, drawing from his personal experience with scoliosis. It offers a fresh perspective on the significance and power of movement—a crucial element in his club performances—blending analogue and digital, human and machine.
Vocalists Daudi Matsiko and Ríoghnach Connolly lend their voices to the project, while Werkha’s signature flexibility lends the album a feeling of being live in performance. Werkha shares…
“This album is about giving a voice to those who face quiet struggles every day… I hope that through my music, I’ve created a space for individuals to discuss their own irregularities.”
