Nathan Fake is set to release his new album ‘Evaporator’ on February 20th.
The acclaimed producer is now in his 20th year of a unique career, having evolved significantly through each album.
‘Evaporator’ represents both a technical transformation—having revamped his OS—and a personal one, as he aims to create music that is intentionally more accessible.
The album, due out on February 20th, reflects his vision of "airy daytime music."
“It’s not overtly confrontational electronic club music,” he explains. “It’s quite pleasant and accessible. When I was putting together the tracklist, I referred to it as a daytime album. It doesn’t have the vibe of an afterparty album.”
Available for pre-order now, the new track ‘Bialystok’ revisits one of his early influences—UK Garage—while breaking away from its typical percussive patterns and moving into something unique and somewhat otherworldly.
The track, which is currently available, captures the essence of the album's full-circle impact. Nathan Fake reflects:
“It makes me realize how long it’s been; twenty years is a long time! It’s strange to see how much has changed. Back then, release day was quiet; now you’re active on social media all day. When I was growing up, the artists behind the electronic music I loved felt quite mysterious, and the artwork was very abstract. There was a significant distance between us and that music, which was a crucial element of it, honestly.”
“Nowadays, being an extrovert is advantageous, but I’m not, and this album marks the first time my face is featured on the cover art. I’ve never wanted that before; I’m quite shy and prefer to stay out of the spotlight. However, after twenty years, I thought I could experiment with something new. I feel fortunate to still be thriving in a media landscape that often favors extroverts and visually striking individuals. It’s not really my space, but here I am, still navigating it.”
