Morrissey makes his return with a new album titled ‘Make-Up Is A Lie’.
This album was believed to have been stuck in developmental limbo for a long time, as Morrissey has been candid about his struggles with his record label.
After ending his association with Capitol Records, the UK artist concluded 2025 by signing with Sire Records, the label that initially brought The Smiths to the U.S. market.
At the time, Morrissey confirmed the signing by posting the iconic Sire Records logo on the Morrissey Solo website.
In the early hours of January 9th, the singer unveiled his new single ‘Make-Up Is A Lie’, along with details about the release date, pre-order options, and the full album's tracklisting.
The upcoming album, also named ‘Make-Up Is A Lie’, marks Morrissey's first studio release in five years. It is set to launch on February 27th and will be supported by a complete tour, starting in Europe next month. Morrissey is scheduled to perform at The O2 Arena in London on February 28th, marking his only UK performance.
The title track features a subtle trip-hop vibe, and the tracklisting available on digital streaming platforms includes a cover of Roxy Music's 1973 song ‘Amazona’.
