Enigmatic collective Sault has returned with their new album ‘Chapter 1.’
The group is led by the elusive producer Inflo and vocalist Cleo Sol, but Sault often adapts its lineup as needed. Throughout their extensive discography, the project has transitioned from neo-soul to modern classical, incorporating elements of rap and reggae, all while maintaining a profound sense of atmospheric soul.
On Friday, Sault made another comeback. True to form, the group provided little advance notice before dropping ‘Chapter 1’ – their thirteenth album to date.
Now available, the 10-track album includes production from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and its flexible funk sound pays homage to the greats of the 70s and 80s, while staying firmly rooted in Sault's unique style.
