Noel Gallagher Had This Pre-Show Routine During The Oasis Tour

That was the Oasis reunion tour, and to say it was enjoyable would be an understatement. While rumors are swirling about the band's plans for 2027, the Manchester icons have chosen to take a break to relax and reflect on everything.

Damon Minchella played a more secondary role during the tour. The musician from Liverpool was an essential part of Ocean Colour Scene’s success in the 90s, helping the band achieve great popularity. He is close friends with Oasis, having toured together frequently, and returned as part of Richard Ashcroft’s live band for the reunion tour.

The friendly bassist has a new book coming out – titled You’d Look Good On A Donkey – and took some time to speak with CLASH about Ocean Colour Scene, his recent endeavors, and, naturally, the Oasis tour.

“Oh, it was euphoric,” he shared. “We performed around 100 shows with Oasis the first time, and each was a distinct experience. Even Knebworth! Those concerts were all a blur of chaos, while this time everything was executed with precision. Everything happened right on schedule because their show runs like clockwork.”

“I can confidently say that the concert we had in Chile in November was the best I’ve ever experienced. The overwhelming love from 90,000 people was extraordinary.”

The bassist mentioned that “Noel is in a really good place, and it was wonderful to see Bonehead. Also – on a rather mundane note – since they brought back much of the old crew, it was lovely to reunite with them.”

Noel Gallagher had a consistent pre-show routine every night – arriving at catering early, unwinding, and enjoying the support acts while soaking in the atmosphere.

“Noel would be in catering from five o’clock onwards. He’d watch us perform every night, then do his thing. Then you got to enjoy Oasis playing for two hours and 15 minutes each night. And when you consider all the songs they didn’t perform, you realize, wow, they could have easily played for four hours, hitting one classic after another!”

You’d Look Good On A Donkey will launch on January 20th – you can order it online now.
