Vybz Kartel a Denise Lewis obdrží MOBO Awards.

Jamaican icon Vybz Kartel and sports legend Denise Lewis will receive special MOBO Awards this week.

The annual celebration of Black British artistry is heading to Newcastle for this week’s ceremony, which will take place tomorrow night (February 18th) at the Utilita Arena.

Performers for the evening include Spice, Krept & Konan, Odeal, Darkoo, Nova Twins, Bashy, DJ AG (with Pozer and LeoStayTrill), along with a special tribute to UK R&B featuring DJ Ace, Jaz Karis, Nao, Sasha Keable, Shae Universe, and Shola Ama.

The MOBOs team has announced two special surprises. Jamaican legend Vybz Kartel will be present at the ceremony to receive the MOBO Impact Award – marking his first visit to the UK in over ten years.

Additionally, British sporting icon Dame Denise Lewis DBE will be honored with the MOBO’s Paving The Way Award, joining the ranks of previous awardees like Idris Elba OBE, Sir Lenny Henry, Nicola Adams OBE, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill DBE, and Jamal Edwards MBE.

Kanya King CBE, MOBO Founder & CEO, stated...

“The MOBO Awards have consistently aimed to acknowledge and celebrate cultural pioneers who have transformed the music landscape and beyond. Denise Lewis serves as a genuine inspiration, and it’s a tremendous honor to recognize such an iconic figure. Few individuals have made as significant a contribution to their field in this country. Vybz Kartel’s influence on music is incalculable, reaching far beyond the realm of dancehall, where he is a musical powerhouse. Honoring these two trailblazers on the MOBO stage in Newcastle will be a historic and unforgettable moment that you won’t want to miss.”

This year’s MOBO Awards, hosted by Eddie Kadi and Indiyah Polack, will be streamed live to a global audience on YouTube at 8pm tomorrow night (February 18th).

Limited tickets for the Awards in Newcastle are still available, visit mobo.com/tickets.
