Now available, ‘Peripheral Lover’ features Gordi – also known as Sophie Payten – delving into themes of desire. Inspired by a hot summer day in Nashville, the song was finalized at her workspace in Australia, presenting captivating snippets of uncontained pop yearning, as she reflects…
During a summer in Nashville a few years back, it was incredibly hot. I found myself contemplating the early stages of queer relationships – I mean really early, when at least one person is still in the closet. It’s about accepting the love that is within reach instead of letting it stay distant. The music video, directed by Jared Frieder, takes Gordi through the streets of Dallas, Texas. The singer fully embraces the song’s message of accepting all forms of love, featuring herself in a kissing booth around Dallas. She remembers…
We invited non-male queer individuals in Dallas willing to join the shoot and kiss a complete stranger – naturally, a large number of people showed up (and they all hung out for drinks afterward, which filled my heart with joy).
Check it out now.
