Expanding on their 'CUTOUTS' universe...
James Holden and Robert Stillman have taken on the task of remixing The Smile.
The Smile’s evolution continues, as their latest album ‘CUTOUTS’ showcases the trio exploring new territories at the intersection of avant-rock, electronic music, and jazz influences.
Now, two new remixes have been commissioned from these familiar faces. James Holden, who has previously toured with The Smile, along with Robert Stillman, who has occasionally participated in the group’s live performances, are behind these new interpretations.
The producers have transformed ‘Don’t Get Me Started’ and ‘Instant Psalm’ in their unique style – characterized by immersive and experimental digital soundscapes. This will be released in a limited edition 12-inch vinyl format.
The physical release will be available from March 28th, while both tracks can be accessed digitally right now. AV artist Weirdcore – known for creating videos for every song on ‘CUTOUTS’ – has crafted two new unsettling visual interpretations that perfectly align with the electronic elements.
