The Irish band charts their own course with raw songwriting and acoustic elements...
Blue Slate has released their debut EP, 'This Is How I Sleep At Night'.
Originating from Kildare, this emerging band polishes their grunge-influenced sound with gritty riffs and distortion, blending shoegaze, new wave, and rock. Across the five tracks, they evoke a sense of early 2000s nostalgia with a modern twist, maintaining an air of mystery and escapism in their sound. The title track of the EP immerses listeners in moody, cinematic instrumentation, enhanced by raw, anthemic lyrics.
After a sold-out headline concert, Blue Slate is continuing to enhance their live performances, adopting a DIY aesthetic in their recordings. Having performed in London, Paris, Rotterdam, and beyond, the four-member band is expanding their audience as they unveil new material on stage.
Upon first listen, 'This Is How I Sleep At Night' creates an exciting trajectory for Blue Slate, serving as a dynamic introduction that captures the essence of the Irish underground.
