HANNAHBELLA, Cork's innovative pop artist, has released her new EP titled ‘Parasite’ in its entirety.
As part of a wave of emerging pop talent from Ireland, HANNAHBELLA distinguishes herself with her unique creativity. Bright, bold, and untamed, she is the rebellious sibling you never knew you needed, expressing her truth in every track.
Now available, her debut EP ‘Parasite’ is rich with potential and characterized by contradictions; it was recorded and mixed with the renowned producer Jessica Richardson (WhenTheBeatIsBad), delivering an infusion of femme fatale energy.
The opening track ‘I like to tell myself’ embraces self-truths, whereas ‘Dainty Fae’ bursts with alt-pop vibrancy.
‘Lament’ offers a shift with its candid and revealing songwriting; the closing track ‘BASELINE’ ties everything together with its punchy, highly catchy alt-pop chaos.
In a note, HANNAHBELLA delves into the EP and its creation. She shares…
‘Parasite’ explores the darker and uncomfortable aspects of the human experience—those unwanted feelings and thoughts we often attempt to suppress. The EP delves into themes of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, grief, loneliness, and love, providing a raw and honest space for these emotions to be acknowledged and processed. It’s vital to honor our feelings and reactions as individuals, fostering self-nurturance. Since you’re always with yourself, why not strive to understand and learn to become the best version of you? I enjoy experimenting with perspective and structure because, despite how straightforward things may appear, our thoughts and feelings can often feel disjointed! It’s never linear.
Despite the heaviness found in each track, there is a thread of resilience and hope, embodying the belief that improvement is possible! With ‘Parasite’, I aimed to craft something beautifully and purposefully chaotic, sonically reflecting the inner turmoil of seeking peace amidst the chaos. I collaborated with extraordinarily talented individuals, making ‘Parasite’ not merely a personal journey but a shared experience. It’s an EP that embraces the unpleasant rather than shying away from it, offering a means of purging and healing in its unique way. I hope listeners discover a part of themselves and can visualize their own parasites, feeling a little less insane in the process haha!
Tune in now.
