“Creating this song turned into a form of confrontation, allowing me to finally address the emotions I had kept hidden.”
Israeli duo Dandy and Ramraz have unveiled their latest single, ‘Couldn’t Make A Sound.’
This release, their first since 'Sunday' in 2024, offers a captivating blend of 2-step garage, bedroom pop, and sound system elements, reflecting a time of emotional distress Dandy experienced following an assault.
‘Couldn’t Make A Sound’ transforms pain into a poignant and heartfelt tribute to resilience. Dandy shares: “‘Couldn’t Make a Sound’ is among the most intimate and emotional pieces I’ve ever composed. It emerged from a profoundly painful experience – an assault that I concealed for years. During that time, I didn’t discuss it, as if my silence would somehow erase it.”
They add: “However, trauma doesn’t simply vanish; it persists, waiting for the right moment to resurface. When it finally did, it overwhelmed me with the emotions I had suppressed for so long, and the only way I could cope was through music. Writing this song became a means of confrontation, allowing me to finally face the feelings I had kept locked away.”
The duo is currently finalizing their upcoming EP, which is expected to be released later this year.
