Building on the recent resurgence of her debut album track ‘Through The Eyes Of A Child’—featured in the final scene of Netflix’s Adolescence series—Norwegian alt-pop sensation AURORA has released a heartfelt new single titled ‘The Flood’. This song addresses what she refers to as “the invisible enemy” and marks her first new release since last year’s ‘What Happened To The Heart?’. The lyrics delve into feelings of being overwhelmed, both from within and from the outside (“I’ve been under pressure all my life and I feel like I’m losing all my fights”, she expresses). Providing insights into the song’s inspiration, AURORA noted: “What brings you anger, what brings you worry and sadness. What makes you retreat into yourself instead of fully engaging with the world. It’s a song about looking for someone or something to blame when you know that the true answer lies within yourself.” You can view the official video for ‘The Flood’ and revisit our 2024 conversation with AURORA below.
