Adrianne Lenker has announced the release of her new concert album ‘Live At Revolution Hall.’
The American songwriter stands out as a contemporary talent, balancing her contributions to Big Thief with her remarkable solo work. The Bright Future tour was a significant highlight, allowing fans to fully experience two hours of Adrianne Lenker’s artistry each night.
The concert featured a mix of beloved songs, rare tracks, and unreleased gems, with engineer Andrew Sarlo managing the exceptional sound, along with a few friends – Nick Hakim on piano and Josefin Runsteen on violin.
Preserved for future listeners, ‘Live At Revolution Hall’ offers a two-hour immersive journey, including 43 tracks.
It will be available digitally, and a limited edition of 500 double cassettes is also planned, with the album set for release on April 24th.
A message from Andrew Perlo precedes the release, accompanied by a live rendition of ‘happiness’ – a beautifully captured moment, which you can listen to below.
Creating this album was impossible without the deep love and respect I hold for my friend. Witnessing the music's ability to connect and resonate feels a bit like an “I told you so,” yet I continue to be amazed each time. I cheer from the sidelines. This live album represents another generous gift from Adrianne, showcasing a wide array of songs; some new, some rare, some well-loved, and more, performed in front of an audience and behind the scenes. Running for approximately 120 minutes, it features songs and vignettes recorded exclusively on reel-to-reel and cassette tape, aiming to provide a fresh perspective on what a live album could be. Recorded over three days during the “Bright Future” tour, we made friendship the central theme, creating a heartfelt keepsake from one friend to another. I encourage you to close your eyes, get comfortable, and listen as if you are watching a film! (Engaging with the music will reveal layers of details within the recordings…) Enjoy listening, Andrew Sarlo
