Folk Bitch Trio has released a new single titled ‘The Actor’.
The band originated in Melbourne/Naarm five years ago, bringing together three musicians, each with their unique approach. A collective ethos emerged, as Folk Bitch Trio blends melodic charm with introspective lyrics that aren't afraid to challenge norms.
“We have three distinct voices,” they state, “but the narrative we share is cohesive because our hearts are deeply intertwined.”
The 2024 single ‘God’s A Different Sword’ marked a significant turning point for them, leading to their signing with the respected independent label Jagjaguwar.
The new single ‘The Actor’ solidifies this partnership and is an excellent contribution; it radiates brightness, and the arrangement is filled with harmony, yet it still carries an element of darkness.
Described as a song about “falling hard and fast and breaking down quickly,” it’s accompanied by a playful, surreal video co-directed by Bridgette Winten and the band.
