Black Honey are making their return! The Brighton-based band has announced the release of their fourth album, ‘Soak,’ scheduled for 15th August. This album news coincides with the launch of their new anthemic single, ‘Dead.’ ‘Dead’ follows the recent release of ‘Psycho,’ which will also be included on the upcoming album. Drawing on cinematic influences, the new song evokes imagery from A Clockwork Orange, with frontwoman Izzy B. Phillips singing: “And you couldn’t decide to stab my back or my eyes / Oh no, I know what you like / Just press on the knife.” The forthcoming album will be the band’s first since the release of 2023’s ‘Fistful of Peaches.’ “’Soak’ represents my reflection on a decade of touring and creating music and art while struggling with addiction,” Phillips shares, noting that she has been sober for two years. “It explores the layers of messy, romantic, confusing, woozy, beautiful, and troubled experiences. Who I believed I was, who I was meant to be, and who faces me now are all vastly different, but I’m embracing it,” she adds. You can listen to the new track, ‘Dead,’ below:
