Lost Explorer Mezcal began its journey crafting mezcal on the ancestral Miztec land in Valles Centrales, Oaxaca, working alongside Maestro Mezcalero Fortino Ramos. They cultivate their agaves for 8 to 12 years, allowing them to achieve their peak natural ripeness in various areas of the dry, sun-soaked region. There is no uniform method for making mezcal; each variety—Espadín, Tobalá, and Salmiana—offers different average sizes and unique flavors, each with its distinct character and lifecycle.
NUDIENT emerged from the desire to escape the mundane—transcending the 9-to-5 grind to embrace a lifestyle where work, life, and creativity harmoniously coexist. Traveling from the bustling streets of Hong Kong to Bali's beaches and the landscapes of South Africa has profoundly influenced their worldview, impacting their design, creation, and mobility.
As always, the lineup features an impressive selection of DJs, and the event will continue into the early hours. This month, we are excited to present Secretsundaze, Frank Tope, Tayo, and CLASH DJs on the dancefloor.
**SECRETSUNDAZE**
Secretsundaze is a prominent British dance music institution fueled by a love for music. Celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2022, this remarkable achievement highlights their enduring presence in the rapidly evolving landscape of British music. They have maintained a vital connection between underground music and wider audiences, carving out a distinctive path for two decades with a reputation strong enough to power a nuclear plant.
As an entity that encompasses parties, festivals, record labels, a studio, an NTS residency, and a live band project, Secretsundaze has operated for over 20 years, reflecting the spirit and community of London's club culture. However, they refuse to remain complacent while others dwell in nostalgia; Secretsundaze continuously seeks progress and innovation.
Currently, Secretsundaze is emerging as an artist entity, led by producer, DJ, and curator James Priestley, who is amassing a collection of club tracks that position the project as an influential source for DJs and music lovers seeking a contemporary interpretation of house music infused with breakbeat energy and uplifting trance vibes. Known for his dynamic DJ performances, Priestley is also expanding his repertoire with highly sought-after solo productions under the Secretsundaze brand. With a release on the esteemed Berlin-based WARNING label already accomplished and three more set for 2025 with notable labels, Priestley is instilling a renewed focus into this aspect of the project’s vision, showing no signs of slowing down.
The evolution of this new musical direction has naturally led to the establishment of a record label: 9FINITY. Inspired by the playful term “9FINITY” coined by founder James' daughter Ludo to describe something enormous, the label aims to produce straightforward, quality dance records from leading artists in modern club music. With a highly anticipated debut featuring Eoin DJ, DJ Life, Coffintexts, E-Talking, and Luca Attanasio, as well as a forthcoming EP from Liquid Earth brewing in the underground scene, the label is gaining momentum, powered by the visionary spirit of its founder.
As a tastemaker, Secretsundaze stands at the forefront of music, welcoming new talents and continually championing emerging artists. The NTS residency, featuring guests like MoMa Ready, Paquita Gordon, and Alex Kassian, reflects the project’s ongoing dancefloor passions. The carefully curated events, such as Secretsundaze presents parties and the Multi Multi festival, noted for showcasing talents like Shanti Celeste and Carista before their rise to prominence and bringing together innovative artists like Fafi Abdel Nour, Tash LC, and Ciel, attest to Secretsundaze’s dedication to celebrating new talent.
A significant milestone in 2022 was the debut of the Spirit Of Sundaze Ensemble, a full live band project that reinterprets beloved anthems, recording and performing iconic tracks like Photek’s 'Mine To Give' and Joyce Sims’ 'Come Into My Life.' The band has already performed at venues like Queen Elizabeth Hall (Southbank Centre) and the ICA as well as at festivals such as Beat Hotel and Kala, with a debut LP anticipated in 2025.
