And releases new single 'My Own Way'...
Emily Hines has announced her upcoming album 'These Days'.
Growing up in rural Ohio, she refers to herself as a chronically-sincere farm girl. Emily spent her early years in the countryside before moving to Nashville, known as America's Music City.
Engaged with the city's music scene, Emily connected with like-minded individuals, collaborating and honing her own artistic style.
Signed to Keeled Scales, her solo album 'These Days' is set to be released on August 1st, featuring seven tracks along with a bonus track for both CD and vinyl formats.
In collaboration with Henry Park, they developed a warm yet straightforward sound, drawing inspiration from artists like Laura Marling and the Greenwich Village icon Karen Dalton.
The new song 'My Own Way' is available now. Crafted on her porch in Nashville, it was reportedly the last song she composed for the album, serving as a central piece in the overall project.
She shares…
“This recording played a significant role in defining the album's sound. Initially, we didn’t intend to use live drums on the record. We enjoyed experimenting with drum machines, and there were some recording challenges with live drums on cassette. However, one day we decided to experiment and asked our friend John-Ruben Medina to play for us. We were thrilled with the result, which motivated us to incorporate live drums in several other tracks as well.”
Tune in now.
