Master Peace returns with ‘There’s No More Underground’ - an intense indie sleaze-inspired track that addresses the struggles faced by grassroots venues and musical subcultures amid industry neglect and the cost of living crisis. This frustration-driven single follows the Ivor Novello winner’s praised debut album ‘How To Make A Master Peace’ and last year's EP ‘How To Make A(nuva) Master Peace’, and it will feature on Peace’s upcoming project, which is expected to be released later this year. Peace has a history of advocating for industry issues (as evident in the interview below), and ‘There’s No More Underground’ continues this pattern; it is not available on typical digital streaming services like YouTube or Spotify, but can be exclusively downloaded for free from Bandcamp. Regarding the release and the song, Peace stated: “You might wonder why I chose this method to release music, particularly after a long break. ‘There’s No More Underground’ reflects how ordinary individuals have been pushed and priced out of engaging in cultural activities… so I wanted to release it in such a way that anyone, regardless of streaming or internet access, could download it, keep it, and listen to it anytime. “To everyone who has supported me on this journey by spending your hard-earned money on gigs, tickets, and travel… this is for you because underground venues, artists, and music would not survive without your support. It's crucial that we sustain grassroots venues, help those keeping the culture alive, and simply have some fun.” Take a listen for yourself:
