"It’s a well-deserved confidence – we rehearse extensively, we are fully dedicated to this band."
— Stephen Harrison
The eagerness with which Stephen and Aric are embracing this moment resonates throughout their music. “He would be incredibly proud of what I’ve achieved,” Stephen smiles when asked what the 2022 version of himself—yearning to escape a toxic FEVER 333 and collaborate with Aric—would think of his progress. Two EPs later, their drive and principles remain unchanged, but the significant transformation lies in that key term: confidence. “It’s a well-deserved confidence – we rehearse extensively, we are dedicated to this band. We review gig footage every night to identify areas for improvement.” Both members share lead vocal duties, marking a first-time responsibility for either of them.
Their inaugural tour, which took place in Australian arenas supporting Bad Omens and Poppy, truly tested them, and they are set to perform at Reading & Leeds, Download, and London’s O2 Arena alongside Architects (who collaborated with HOP on the recent track ‘Brain Dead’) before the year concludes. “We have something really exciting planned for Download…” Stephen hints. Before any of that, they will commemorate their shared birthday with a release show for their EP in Los Angeles (“I’ve never had a birthday party before,” Stephen reveals).
Influenced by the "mentality of prioritizing fun and chaos" from Stephen’s hardcore days in The Chariot, House Of Protection are paving the way for innovation in heavy music. But above all, they are two brothers—humble, appreciative, and eager to push boundaries in the name of creativity. It’s meant to be a challenge, right?
