Everything Is Recorded Shares Improvisational Set ‘Solstice Equinox’

Everything Is Recorded has unveiled their new release, ‘Solstice Equinox.’

The project is led by Richard Russell, the founder of XL Recordings and an acclaimed producer in his own right. Over the past five years, it has produced a wealth of material.

Earlier this year, Everything Is Recorded released the complete studio album ‘Temporary.’ In the interim between significant album releases, the project has been involved in spontaneous music creation.

Over four days in 2023 and 2024, the project convened at The Copper House, Russell’s studio in West London. All activities took place on the Summer and Winter Solstices, as well as the Spring and Autumn Equinoxes, featuring a diverse array of guest musicians.

The line-up combines long-time friends and collaborators with fresh voices, including (take a breath!) Alabaster DePlume, Jah Wobble, Ibeyi, Samantha Morton, Laura Groves, Jack Peñate, Roses Gabor, Mary In The Junkyard, Georgia, Sampha, Florence Welch, Yazz Ahmed, CASISDEAD, and more.

Now available, ‘Solstice Equinox’ compiles these recordings in one collection, along with additional edits. The release consists of four sets of 10 tracks, totaling a duration of one hour and forty minutes.

‘Solstice Equinox’ will be available digitally and in a limited edition vinyl format. Each LP is packaged in a custom, screen-printed sleeve crafted at XL Recordings’ headquarters in West London. They can be purchased now through Everything Is Recorded’s Bandcamp and the XL Recordings store.
