Clipse Reveals Kendrick Lamar’s Verse on ‘Chains & Whips’

      24 · 06 · 2025

Clipse have leaked Kendrick Lamar's verse from the yet-to-be-released track 'Chains & Whips'.

While the song isn’t out officially, both Clipse and producer Pharrell shared a brief clip on Instagram stories last night.

The verse has already stirred up controversy, with Clipse stating that its inclusion led to significant tensions with their former label, Def Jam.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Pusha T remarked, “I think the connection between the parties... The collaboration between Clipse and [Kendrick] was a bit overwhelming for them, especially amid their ongoing lawsuits.”

He continued, “I believed the verse was solid, perfectly acceptable, just great raps.”

Malice, a member of Clipse, added that it was an “incredible” verse and that Kendrick “went above and beyond” in a positive way.

Now that the verse has been leaked, it’s generating mixed reactions – Kendrick will always have his devoted fans, while some in the rap community feel that a lack of breath control affects his delivery.

      Take a listen below.

This leak comes just days after Clipse unveiled their provocative single 'So Be It', which features Travis Scott. Kendrick Lamar and SZA will be touring the UK for stadium performances this summer.

Clipse's new album ‘Let God Sort Me Out’ is set to release on July 11th.
