In addition to a delightful stop-motion video...
Wet Leg has released their new single ‘davina mccall’.
The band's forthcoming album ‘moisturizer’ is set to be released on July 11th, and this new track serves as another glimpse into their second album.
The gentle melody masks the collaborative effort behind the song – Hester Chambers initiated the track and built the foundation with Ellis Durand; Rhian Teasdale contributed the lyrics and melody, finalizing the core of the piece.
“Ellis and I were on the edge of our seats, feeling like, ‘We’re going to finish this, we’re piecing it together,’” Chambers remarked.
The title should be interpreted literally – it alludes to Big Brother and Shakira, presenting a heartfelt narrative of youthful affection.
Adorably charming, ‘davina mccall’ is accompanied by a stop-motion animated video, depicting Wet Leg as clay figures on a quest to catch a feather-thieving goblin. Yes, it’s true.
Directed by Chris Hopewell, it’s an incredibly enjoyable experience – check it out now.
