London artist Jim Legxacy has launched his highly awaited new mixtape ‘black british music (2025)’ through XL Recordings.

This deeply personal narrative revolves around familial upheaval and an aspirational journey of self-discovery, as Jim Legxacy reflects on the complexities of the Black British experience. The 15-track compilation showcases a vibrant blend of sounds that spans various genres, including homegrown rap, rock, folktronica, and Afro-fusion.

The mixtape, rich in both introspective themes and bold soundscapes, features the new single ‘3x,’ which includes a collaboration with Mercury Prize-winning rapper Dave. Additionally, Jim Legxacy collaborates with emerging artists Fimiguerrero and dexter in the newsagent on tracks ‘sun’ and ‘dexters phone call.’ The mixtape also comprises previously released singles ‘stick’ and ‘father.’

Earlier, he shared ‘nothings changed (!),’ a touching homage to the life and legacy of his late sister, before performing at his inaugural show at The Albany in Deptford. Later that year, he released ‘aggressive,’ providing the first true insight into the ‘black british music (2025)’ sound and marking his debut on XL.
