Yeat's remarkable ascent is one of the most intriguing narratives in American rap. Remaining an enigma – seldom engaging on social media and rarely granting interviews – his ability to build immersive worlds has captivated millions. He manages to be at the forefront of American rap while still maintaining an air of mystery, embodying a paradoxical presence that is undeniably impactful.
His 2024 album ‘Lyfestyle’ was a grand 22-track project, showcasing both studio generosity and artistic assurance. Since then, there has been talk of a collaborative album with Don Toliver, in addition to an anticipated release this year titled ‘A Dangerous Lyfe’.
Emerging as rumors this week, ‘DANGEROUS SUMMER’ is more than just an EP, yet remains shorter than one. With 11 tracks – half the amount on ‘Lyfestyle’ – it still showcases some of his finest work, focusing on his core principles while incorporating some surprising and captivating features.
‘PUT IT ONG’ comes into view as a prelude that feels like an engine revving up. The project takes full flight with ‘LOCO’, a bold anthem that is a definite crowd-pleaser. The massive, stadium-ready production complements Yeat’s sharp delivery.
‘COME N GO’ plays with vocal effects, allowing Yeat to explore his melodic side, before transitioning into the grand, Slash-inspired guitar riff on the standout track ‘ADL IS COMING’.

A series of features effectively creates a mini-EP within the broader work. BNYX contributes to ‘IM YEAT’, while close collaborator Don Toliver shines on ‘2TONE’; however, the highlight of these collaborations is the addition of British artist FKA twigs on ‘FLY NITE’. Her rich and alluring vocals set this track apart from the rest, revealing new dimensions of Yeat’s artistry – it’s a captivating moment.
Concluding with ‘Growing Pains’, it remains unclear how to categorize ‘DANGEROUS SUMMER’. Is it a creative housecleaning? A present for fans? A transitional piece leading to his other, yet-to-be-announced releases? Although not every track is a hit, ‘DANGEROUS SUMMER’ reaffirms Yeat's relevance while introducing fresh elements into his musical tapestry.
