Baxter Dury takes pleasure in the misfortunes of others in his new track 'Schadenfreude'.

Baxter Dury has drawn inspiration from continental dance music for his latest single ‘Schadenfreude’ - a dynamic and wryly amusing track that precedes the enigmatic artist’s upcoming album ‘Allbarone’ (set for release on September 12th through Heavenly Recordings). ‘Schadenfreude’ is the third single released from ‘Allbarone’ (after the title track and ‘Return Of The Sharp Heads’) and was produced in what Baxter describes as “Paul Epworth’s grand studio” with assistance from what he humorously refers to as “cocaine daleks.” He elaborated: “Once we had the backing track, it played continuously through these enormous custom speakers that resembled Cocaine Daleks. It conveys an optimistic, pulsating French dance vibe paired with lyrics from a slightly overly honest and fragile man. Schadenfreude.” You can watch the video for ‘Schadenfreude’ and locate where to catch Baxter live this year below. His Autumn/Winter 2025 headline tour dates are as follows:
