Zsela makes her return today with the new single ‘hbd lucy’.

This marks the first glimpse of new music since the Brooklyn-born artist’s praised 2024 debut album ‘Big For You’. ‘hbd lucy’ was co-written with Daniel Aged (known for collaborations with FKA Twigs and Rosalía) and CaseyMQ (who has worked with Oklou and Eartheater) during a recording retreat in Hawaii.

At just under two minutes, ‘hbd lucy’ is a reflective art-pop track enriched with delicate funk elements – a refreshing change for an artist embracing a soft, nuanced atmosphere.

“Lucy ignited a new sense of lightness I've been experiencing in my music-making at this moment,” shares Zsela.

‘hbd lucy’ will feature on ‘Sitting on the Moon’, a digital compilation set for release on August 15th. It includes fresh tracks from the wider circle of Mexican Summer’s friends and family, such as Connan Mockasin, Dungen, and Robert Lester Folsom.

This Autumn, Zsela will support Nourished By Time on a U.S. tour. Tickets are available here.

Ela Minus has released a compilation of 'QQQQ (Remixes)'. The Colombian electronic artist unveiled her latest album, 'DÍA', through Domino earlier this year.

Additionally, the Irish punk band Adore has unveiled their new single, 'Sweet Keith'.

The group has announced its debut EP, titled ‘BITER’, set to be released on September 26th through Big Scary Monsters. This new project is already making waves within Ireland's tightly-knit music scene. Characterized by sharp riffs and thought-provoking lyrics, Adore presents a confrontational approach that remains grounded in joy.

The ‘BITER’ EP was produced by Daniel Fox, the bassist of Gilla Band, with vocalist Lara Minchin describing it as a collection of songs that “chronicle a lengthy lesson in being loud and pushing back.”

Their latest single, ‘Sweet Keith’, captures a particular kind of straightforwardness, functioning as a brief yet captivating narrative.

Regarding the song, Lara Minchin shares...

‘Sweet Keith’ is a refreshingly sincere and straightforward track. One of my closest friends remarked on how many of my friends have widely spaced eyes, likening this feature to ‘prey’ eyes in the animal kingdom. She further expressed her belief that many of my friends share this trait, which my brain translated as being gentle and safe, in contrast to predators that typically have their eyes positioned at the front of their heads.

‘Sweet Keith’ expresses my affection for my friends and my appreciation for their authenticity, energy, and stories. It’s one of my favorite songs to perform live, and within the EP, it marks the beginning of what's to come for Adore. Sweet Keith symbolizes all the people I cherish in one name, and when we perform it live with friends in the audience, I feel like it’s a tribute to them.

Tune in now.
