The Last Dinner Party presents their latest pop-rock track, "Second Best."

The Last Dinner Party has unveiled ‘Second Best’—their new single inspired by Sparks, which is the third preview of their upcoming sophomore album ‘From The Pyre’, set to release on October 17th via Island. Following the earlier releases ‘This Is The Killer Speaking’ and ‘The Scythe’, ‘Second Best’ features guitarist Emily Roberts taking the lead conceptually as she contemplates a damaging cycle of obsession and betrayal. “I wish I could tell my past self that I deserve more, and that no one should have to settle for being second best,” she explained, offering insight into the song's origins. “I aim for this track to express the pain, anger, and despair I experienced, but most importantly, the defiance and sense of accomplishment I feel in being able to immortalize this person in a song and to reflect on the situation with greater maturity.” Check out our feature with The Last Dinner Party from 2024 and watch the lyric video for ‘Second Best’ below. To celebrate the release of ‘From The Pyre’, The Last Dinner Party will be hosting a series of intimate outstore shows before embarking on a major headline tour across the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. In a captivating performance on A COLORS SHOW, SABRI reflects…

‘Sold Myself For Love’ emerged from a place of profound introspection, where I recognized how I would give myself up to hold onto love. It’s about confronting that reality and learning to regain your power after losing yourself in another person. The song carries both softness and strength, representing the shift from choosing pain to embracing freedom. For me, it encapsulates the beauty and ache of letting go.

Debuting this on COLORS feels incredibly meaningful. Their platform truly captures the authenticity and honesty from which this song was created. It’s the ideal setting to share this new chapter of my music, where vulnerability takes center stage.
