Wesley Joseph is back with his latest single, ‘If Time Could Talk’.

Walsall-born and London-based artist and creator Wesley Joseph makes his eagerly awaited return with the new single, ‘If Time Could Talk’, released through Secretly Canadian.

Co-produced with Nicolas Jaar, Harvey Dweller, and Tev’n, ‘If Time Could Talk’ initially began as a dance instrumental before Joseph adjusted its tempo for a darker, more fluid piece. The track combines synthetic elements with organic sounds, creating a heartfelt lament brought to life through production that beats and flows.

Regarding the song, Joseph explains: “In essence, the song revolves around the longing for a lost connection, encompassing themes of desire, regret, and the romanticizing of the past. Some of my songs tell specific stories, while others express a feeling dramatized into a scene, and ‘If Time Could Talk’ feels more aligned with the latter—combining emotional honesty, immediacy, and melancholy into an exhilarating escape.”

Joseph states, “I slowed the tempo down and discovered space in the music that highlighted the feelings and textures—electric, nostalgic, twisted, and aching simultaneously.”

The self-directed music video, filmed in Paris and produced by Stink, features Joseph in dimly lit, urban club environments and reflection-filled rooms that shift and distort with intensity. Rich in texture and surreal in nature, the video reflects Joseph’s background in filmmaking and world-building, blending stark realism with dreamlike abstraction.

Since his debut with 2021’s ‘ULTRAMARINE’, Joseph has established himself as one of the UK’s most innovative new artists. His 2023 follow-up, ‘GLOW’, further expanded his unique universe, merging alternative R&B, rap, and soul genres.

Joseph has worked with notable artists such as A.K. Paul, Dave Okumu, Leon Vynehall, Joy Orbison, his childhood friend Jorja Smith, and Loyle Carner.

Joseph is set to take the stage for an intimate headline performance at Hideout on January 21st, welcoming audiences back into his evolving world. Sign up for the mailing list here.
